PROJECT BRIEF

Project Name:

Providing Healthcare for Villages in Rural India

Summary

This project provides a group of villages with access to healthcare through a primary care outpatient clinic in order to improve health outcomes and economic productivity.

Project Needs and Beneficiaries:

We are addressing the problem of inadequate healthcare access for the poor and marginalized people of villages in the South 24 Parganas district of rural West Bengal, India. Our solution offers them a geographically and socio-economically accessible healthcare clinic that is staffed by a fully licensed doctor that will also improve the local economy through improved worker productivity and reliability. We are planning to further develop partnerships with local employers to make this sustain-ably funded.

Activities

We provide healthcare to villagers in an area with no other healthcare access and where health outcomes are so poor that over 100 children out of every 1000 die before the age of five. We also seek to explore and implement sustainable funding models.
