The Institute for the Handicapped and Backward People is a socially responsible organisation, have to involve in many social projects in the state of West Bengal in India.
India has some 40 to 80 million persons living with disability, it is estimated that about 30 per cent of them are children below the age of 14 years. India is of the country disabled children do not receive any form of education Poverty is the biggest cause of disability in India. The 360 million Indian people who live below the poverty line are the most vulnerable to disability. 50% of all disabilities are directly linked to poverty.

Our Activities

Institute for the Handicapped has been providing special education, training and rehabilitation services to the children with disabilities since the year 2001. The institute being Residential, non-residential emphasizes on training of Hearing Impaired, Cerebral Palsy, Mentally Challenged and has kept trying to rehabilitate them in their community itself Infrastructure and other resource constraints have been always a factor, which imposes restrictions on the expansion of coverage of more areas of this coastal south 24 parganas .
